                  2. Secondly, we may apply multiple repetitions of a stimulus upon the same
            neurons,  at  intervals  less  than  the  time  required  for  the  etheric  imprint  to
            vanish.  This  gradually  saturates  the  etheric  imprint  to  a  level  that  triggers
            deformation  on  the  astral  plane;  with  saturation  of  the  latter,  an  astral  imprint  is
            formed.

                  By way of analogy, we may picture a fountain with two reservoirs, one of which
            is fed water through a single pipe. In order to fill the second reservoir, water must
            initially fill the first one to overflowing, after which the second one starts to receive
            the drain-off. Now let us imagine  that the  reservoirs can be filled  only  if the pipe
